The Firewire Quadro Flex produces a lot of speed and feels skatie underneath my feet.
Board Dimensions: 6’2″ by 19 1/2 by 2 3/8
Fins: Kelley Slaters V2 Quads
The Pro: Axiom Surf experience how fast this board is. Even though it doesn’t flex like fiber glass boards, it still keeps its speed. We tested the surfboard with medium size V2 surfing fins with this board so it’s extra shifty and feels really fun on the fast section of the wave. This board is really durable and Axiom Surf have had it for a while without any dings needed for repair. The quad fin does really make this thing fast. When we swapped out for larger fins, it did hold better but, we like a skatie feel with the medium fin template.
The Con: It does take a little extra paddle to get into the wave. It holds okay and fast enough to get me in front of the pocket of the wave. The board did feel a little on the heavier side compared to a lot of boards we’ve tested.
Overall: It’s a nice board and fun on the days you just want to try tricks because it rides fast.
