Firewire Hellfire Rapidfire Review

Agility: (3 / 5)
Weight: (4 / 5)
Durable: (4.8 / 5)
Catch Waves: (2.5 / 5)
Overall: (3.6 / 5)

The smooth and quick Firewire Rapidfire surfboard is great all around board and has volume where needed to get into any wave or break.

Board Dimensions: Length: 6’4″ Width: 20 1/2″ Thickness: 2 5/8″

The Pro: The Firewire shaped this surfboard putting a little more volume in the chest shoulder area. This makes for an easy paddle and great to get into all types of wave sizes. Axiom Surf found the turning to be tight because the way the rocker is designed on the board. The tail of the surfboard is an interesting thin shape and we thought it would produce some drag but actually holds quite well. The surfboard maneuverability and drive puts you back in front of the wave.

The Con: The Rapidfire takes a little to get use to upon dropping into the wave. The board wasn’t as stable at times on drop so ended up bailing a few times.

Overall: The surfboard is designed and rides well in many different conditions. The way the board paddles is ideal for any surfer because the volume is distributed in the right sections of the surfboard. There’s great control and leaning into the turns will generate spray on the the wave. It’s a fun surfboard and will increase wave count as long as you get use to the drop. The drop can be frustrating for surfers so it’ll take some patients to get use to.
