The California Board Company Sushi Fish Soft surfboard 5ft 8in  is great for learning and really an intro board or on days there is a ton of people and don’t want risk hitting people in the white water.

Board Dimensions: 5’8″

Fins: Plastic ones that came with the board.

The Pro: It’s paddles pretty good for being 5’8″, it’s wide, has enough volume so you can paddle into the small waves. Axiom Surf tested this during busy beach days where there is a ton of people out in the water. It’s a fun board to try new techniques from paddling to tricks as it’s an easy board to maneuver.

The Con: It’s a foam board and really flexible so you might not be able pump the board as you would a traditional board because there’s too much flex. Probably not the right size for me so this is one reason I rated it low.

Overall: It’s a fun board to mess around and paddling around isn’t too tough. Axiom Surf recommends this surfboard for beginners because often times when you’re starting out the board hits you in the head or slicing your leg with the fin on wiping out.
